MICHAEL G. HANSEN B.A. J.D.

EXPERIENCE

Matthew FischerMr. Hansen joined Fischer and Company in May 2011 and works with Mr. Fischer in his preferred area of practice, Condominium Law.

Prior to joining Fischer and Company, Mr. Hansen practiced at an international law firm in Melbourne, Australia and articled at a regional law firm in Kelowna, BC. Mr. Hansen has practiced primarily in the areas of commercial litigation, foreclosure and collections work, with a particular focus on the construction industry.

Mr. Hansen has effectively represented clients in both the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia and has been involved in many complex matters involving issues such as: developer related disputes, Strata governance issues, collections and compliance with the provisions of the Strata Property Act.

Mr. Hansen has also been involved in matters related to phased strata development projects and sections bylaws.

EDUCATION

Mr. Hansen attended the ‘Strata Property Update’ through the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia in 2011.

Mr. Hansen completed his Professional Legal Training Course through the Law Society of British Columbia and was called to the Bar in British Columbia in May 2011. He was also called to the Bar in Victoria, Australia in 2008.

Mr. Hansen obtained his Juris Doctor in Law from Bond University in 2007 and also attended the Faculty of Law at the University of British Columbia.

Mr. Hansen also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Classics from the University of Calgary (2005).

Mr. Hansen is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, and is currently preparing seminar topics for future presentation
